TV Guide launching new DVR service

TV Guide
Look out, TiVo - TVGuide.com is launching a new online DVR service. The company states that the service will alert viewers when new episodes of their favorite shows are available to view online.
But what does that mean? Will TV Guide host the videos themselves? Will they simply notify users about videos posted on sites like Hulu? Whatever the case, the service could become popular if TVGuide.com’s audience takes a liking to it. Over 21 million unique visitors visit the site per month.
Digeo Moxi offers subscription-free DVR
The Digeo Moxi HD DVR is trying to change the DVR game, it really is. Digeo has chosen to offer a flat-fee service instead of a subscription-based model like TiVo. Unfortunately, the Digeo’s user experience isn’t enough to save it from DVR mediocrity.
The guys over at Wired took it for a test drive and noted that, while the user interface was really beautiful (it won an Emmy - seriously), navigating around the Moxi was tedious at best. At $800, anything less than DVR perfection means your device is probably destined for failure. Hopefully, Diego can release some new firmware for the box that resolves its major flaws and makes the Moxi worth buying.
